Puerto Princesa and El Nido are among the most popular destinations in Palawan. However, these two places are far from each other. Puerto Princesa, the capital of the province is located in the middle of mainland Palawan while El Nido is on the northern part, approximately 260 kilometers away.
While El Nido has its own airport, commercial flights to the town is limited to small aircraft due to runway limitations. Thus, the airfare is usually high which brings most tourists going from Puerto Princesa to El Nido for another five to six hours of land travel to El Nido. For those on a budget, there are public buses and vans that regularly ply the route.
