International Tourism and Trade Expo 2009

With the theme “Enchanting Destinations, Great Opportunities!”, the International Tourism and Trade Expo (ITTE) 2009 will open tomorrow, May 15, 2009 at Megatrade Hall 3 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

The event, which will run from May 15 to May 17 will feature 81 booths and exhibits from various tourism related industries and the Miss Tourism Philippines pageant. Guests can avail of promo offers and discounts from the exhibitors composed of local airlines, hotels and resorts, travel agencies, tour operators, recreational parks, spas, hospitals, restaurants, etc.

On the profile published on their website (http://www.itte.com.ph) ITTE elaborated their theme:

ENCHANTING DESTINATIONS means that through an event like ITTE 2009, the Philippines can divulge a myriad of destinations which has been sub-categorized into Adventure, Health & Wellness, Wedding & Honeymoon, Investment, Retirement, Shopping and Sports & Recreation. Through the cooperation and support of the participating resorts, hotels and other institutions, the country can position itself as a “go-to” haven when for instance, talking about Health & Wellness (like Thailand) and be a Shopping mecca (like Hong Kong) and such.

GREAT OPPORTUNITIES encompasses the only way by which tourism and trade in the country can be revealed and discovered. ITTE 2009 opens doors through this event and for foreign and local investors and tourists. The Philippines has a wealth of world-class hotels, resorts, institutions, handicrafts, quality labor, trustworthy suppliers and manufacturers and it is only proper that we open doors and let everyone discover it.
