Snapshot: Reacquainted with Kawasan Falls

Kawasan Falls

Kawasan Falls

Barangay Matutinao, Badian, Cebu

When I first saw Kawasan Falls in pictures, I thought it was too good to be true. Its perfectly turquoise water is quite unbelievable. Must be the power of Photoshop, so I thought. But when I finally got to see it in 2010, I was so astonished that it was in fact real!

Situated in Barangay Matutinao in Badian, Cebu, Kawasan Falls is a multi-layered waterfalls famous for its turquoise-colored deep natural pools. The cold and clear water flows through layers of cascades from Cancalanog down to Matutinao River and Kabukalan Spring before going Tañon Strait.

One can get here via 10 minutes of walking from the main road in Barangay Matutinao, by canyoneering downstream from Alegria or by a three-hour trek from Osmeña Peak. The latter was what we did in 2014. 🙂

Check out my blog of Kawasan Falls for more information about the place.
