Philippine Travel Requirements for Arriving International Passengers (As of May 2022)

Philippine Travel Requirements

The Philippines has finally opened its borders to all international arriving passengers! This is provided that the Philippine travel requirements imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) for arriving international passengers are met and satisfied.

Lifting of Facility-Based Quarantine

Effective February 1, 2022, FULLY VACCINATED international arriving passengers, regardless of country of origin, will no longer be required to undergo a mandatory facility-based quarantine upon arrival. However, they shall self-monitor for any sign or symptom for seven (7) days with the first day being the date of arrival and shall be required to report to the local government unit of destination upon the manifestation of symptoms, if any.

Meanwhile, UNVACCINATED, PARTIALLY VACCINATED or individuals whose vaccination status cannot be independently validated shall be required to present a negative RT-PCR test taken within forty-eight hours (48hrs) prior to departure from the country of origin. Additionally, they shall be required to undergo facility-based quarantine until the release of their negative RT-PCR test taken on the fifth (5th) day. After which, they shall be required to undergo home quarantine until their fourteenth (14th) day, with the date of arrival being the first day. The local government units of destination and their respective Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams are tasked to monitor those arriving passengers undergoing home quarantine.

Philippine Travel Requirements for Arriving International Passengers (Regardless of Origin)

For Filipino and Eligible Foreign Nationals Effective February 1, 2022

  • Fully Vaccinated

    • A negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to departure from the country of origin
    • One Health Pass Registration
    • Self-monitoring for any sign or symptom of  for seven (7) days, with the first day being the day of arrival
    • Report to the local government unit of destination should any symptoms manifest
    • Must have any of the following proofs of vaccination against COVID-19 that are recognized under existing IATF regulations:
      • World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination
      • VaxCertPH certification
      • National/State digital certificate of the foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal arrangement, unless otherwise accepted by the IATF
  • Unvaccinated, Partially Vaccinated and Those Whose Vaccination Status Cannot be Validated

    • A negative RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to departure from the country of origin
    • One Health Pass Registration
    • Facility-based quarantine until the release of negative RT-PCR test results to be taken on the 5th day of quarantine
    • Home quarantine until the 14th day from the day of arrival to be monitored by the LGU of destination and their Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams
  • Unvaccinated Children

    • Children under 12 years of age who cannot be vaccinated shall follow the quarantine protocols of the parent/s or the accompanying adult/guardian traveling with them.
    • One Health Pass Registration

For Arriving Foreign Nationals from Non-Visa Required Countries Effective February 10, 2022

  • Passports valid for six (6) months from time of arrival
  • One Health Pass Registration
  • Onward tickets to their country of origin or to their next destination outside the Philippines
  • Any of the following proofs of vaccination against COVID-19 that are recognized under existing IATF regulations:
    • World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination;
    • VaxCertPH certification; or
    • National/State digital certificate of the foreign government which has accepted VaxCertPH under a reciprocal arrangement, unless otherwise accepted by the IATF
  • Important Notes:
    • Children below eighteen (18) years of age are exempted from the requirement of full vaccination and providing proof of vaccination status prior to boarding
    • Shall observe the existing testing and quarantine protocols in place for fully vaccinated international arriving passengers as stated above

    • Fully vaccinated nationals shall not be included in the arrival quota set by the Department of Transportation and its One-Stop-Shop
