Tanghalang Pilipino Presents “Prinsipe Munti” & “Melanie”

Prinsipe Munti

Since its founding in 1987, Tanghalang Pilipino, the resident drama company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has successfully presented more than 200 productions within 27 seasons while generating one of the best attendance records among the CCP’s resident companies. Tanghalang Pilipino commits itself to the development of an active audience for Filipino Theater through its nurture of the native language as its primary medium for its productions and by bringing its performances to venues outside its home at the CCP – including non-traditional performance spaces – to various parts of the country and overseas, especially locations with large Filipino communities.

Now on its 28th theater season, Tanghalang Pilipino is proud to present two powerful plays that will surely piqued the interests of the masses during their run on November to December 2014 –  “Prinsipe Munti” and “Melanie”.

Prinsipe Munti

An adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s most-read and most translated book and one of the top-selling books ever published –  Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince), “Prinsipe Munti” is a fun mix of storytelling and entertainment through performance with music and shadow play or puppetry. Originally a novella, with more than 250 translations in languages, dialects, as well as braille, Tanghalang Pilipino’s theter version guarantees the same fun that the book offers. It is a production for the young and young at heart.
